Welcome to the 2021 Virtual Academic Summer School Pool. A place to ask questions, share resources, and collaborate with colleagues.

The first principle in the NYSED CRSE framework is a "Welcoming and Affirming Environment.” This means creating a space where people find themselves represented and reflected, where all people are treated with respect and dignity, and where all cultural identities (i.e. race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, language, religion, socioeconomic background) are affirmed, valued, and used as vehicles for teaching and learning. This asynchronous course explores strategies for cultivating a welcoming and affirming environment by elevating student voice and choice, creating a community of learners, collaborating with families, and encouraging a culture of safety. Weekly coursework is required to obtain credit for this course.
